It had always been Bob's wish to bring a Major Fastpitch event to the Lehigh Valley.
Through the efforts of friends and the local softball community, his dream has become a reality.



Robert M. Walsh was the first umpire ever to be inducted into the I.S.C Hall of Fame located in Kimberly, WI.

During his career as an umpire, he worked thousands of games in the USA and Canada including every I.S.C. World Tournament from 1961-1984 with one exception of 1978. He was also instrumental in bringing the 1984 World Tournament to Allentown, and served as Commissioner of the I.S.C. for Pennsylvania from 1980-1995.

Along with being the first umpire assignor for the East Coast Conference playoffs,the Patriot League playoffs, and the Northeast Conference playoffs, he was the first umpire assignor in the Lehigh Valley for area colleges and formed the East Penn College Umpires Association (now called Eastern Collegiate Umpires Association).

He was also the founding member of the East Penn Umpires Association, assignor for the East Penn Conference, Centennial League (MVC) and Colonial League. Umpire assigning: EPC: 1974-1999 Centennial: until 1994 MVC: until 1997 and the original Lehigh Valley H.S. League (Lehigh - Northampton). He was a founding member of East Penn Umpires Association (summer group) which umpired the Lehigh Valley League, Blue Mountain C.L., Parkland-Salisbury C.L., East Penn, Trexlertown, and General Electric Leagues.
